Australia, mate!

Australia marked my starting point of my 7-week backpacking trip (I know, I know, I am mixing up the timeline here, but oh well). It was also my first backpacking experience, in which I started out traveling by myself for the first 2,5 weeks of the trip (this doesn’t sound long at all, and I’ve met so many female solo traveler, but for me it was a first). Starting out in Melbourne, I made a quick stop in Auckland, New Zealand (more about that in a later post), flew over to Cairns and made my way down to Brisbane, Surfers Paradise, Byron Bay and finally Sydney.

Southeast Asia

It’s been a little busy lately and even though I announced on Instagram that I would upload this blog post soon, I kinda got stuck on it. So, finally – my blog post about my Southeast Asia backpacking trip. Southeast Asia was my final stop during my 7-week backpacking trip during my summer break. I started in Australia, traveled along the east coast with a brief stop in Auckland, New Zealand and finally flew from Sidney to Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand were on our agenda, so a lot to see in a few couple of weeks.

Wanderlust – the urge to travel

This constant state of Wanderlust. I think a lot of my follow travelers can relate to it. Whether you’ve lived abroad for a while or just returned from your recent travels. At one point or another, there will always be that urge. That urge to get out there again, to travel to new and exciting places, meet new people and cultures, the urge to have the time of your life over and over again in a different city, a different country or a different continent.

New York, New York – it’s been 8 years since the last time I was in the city, so of course I was super thrilled when my sister and I finally booked our flights. I am in and out of the States almost ever year, but I usually end up just flying over to Chicago to see my friends, so New York was a nice change. We had fantastic weather most of the times and were able to walk around as much as possible to experience the New York city vibe. I love this city.  Continue reading

Big City Blues – Chicago

Chicago is personal. It’s dear to my heart because it was my first real experience abroad, I lived here for a year, I have friends here and therefore it will always feel like home. They were right when they said: ‘Home is where your heart is’. I could write a million things about this city, but then this would be the world’s longest blog post and we all don’t really want that. Instead, I will try to purely focus on the highlights of my last visit and add some extras that you should be doing, while staying in Chicago. So, here we go – my big city blues.

I wonder if you know, how they live in TOKYO

img_7505

I am trying to kill some time until our flight to New York City next week (boy, I can’t wait to be on the road again, I am down for a break), so I am reminiscing in memories over old trips we took and I stumbled over my Tokyo pictures. We traveled to Tokyo for a long weekend during our vacation in South Korea (I sure will share some experiences from South Korea soon) to visit my little sister, who lived in Seoul for almost two years. A long weekend sure is not enough time to see everything, but we managed to get quite a good impression of the City and I can’t wait to fly back there to explore the rest of the country – it’s on the bucket list.

Obrigada, Brazil!

p1030461

I know it’s been a while since our field trip to the North-East of Brazil and I probably don’t remember all the hotels, clubs and special places we’ve been. But I wanted to share some of the pictures while traveling around – was my first time in South America back then and has been an absolute blast. So, instead of writing a lot, this one will be based on my impressions of Brazil, the people and the nature. Enjoy!

Budapest

budapest

I always wanted to go to Budapest, god knows why I didn’t manage to go there early. It’s a two hour flight from Berlin and I’ve heard so many good things about it before, but never made the time to go. Anyways, I was finally able to book my flight with my sister and a good friend of mine and want to give you some insights from my trip to beautiful Budapest.
